The involvement of local leaders is essential to the success of projects

In Keelpasar, India, the local leaders are directly involved in the project. Public officials play a crucial role in the success of the project.

The town council and the president of the panchayat (municipality) are motivated and committed to supporting the development of the village. They are rallying residents and have signed a memorandum of understanding to supply electricity to the locals free of charge.

“During my last trip to India, I particularly appreciated the commitment of the mayor of Keelpasar. He is involved in the development of his community on a daily basis,” commented Olivier Soret, president of Humanium.

“His commitment is crucial in supporting our field teams. What’s more, Keelpasar is a very poor village and is far removed from main roads. A strong sense of fatalism reigns among the villagers.

Being able to count on the support of a mayor like that of Keelpasar really makes things easier.”

We continue to rely on your support in order for this project to succeed, and thank you for your donations.
