Overview<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Humanium <\/strong>is an international non-governmental organisation, founded in 2008 in Geneva with the objective of raising awareness about children\u2019s rights by offering legal assistance through our helplines and working with a global network of lawyers. Humanium has collaborated with Child Rights Connect and Alliance des Avocats (AADH). Additionally, Humanium has successfully carried out projects in Rwanda and India, Humanium still supports its local partners in said countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The legal helpline team consists of four members, as volunteers the hours are flexible, as a general rule and mutual understanding we require volunteers to complete 2-5 hours of work on the helpline per week. The reasons for these hours depend on the volume of cases we receive, sometimes we can receive many cases, but usually, during the summer, the amount of cases significantly reduces. Our mission is to assist victims and witnesses of children\u2019s rights and provide them with reliable legal information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The volunteer position is remotely based. The legal team consists of 5-6 members. Our mission is to assist victims of children\u2019s rights and provide general information when needed. The helpline is divided into 4 languages: English, French, German and Spanish. During your time at Humanium, you will also have the chance to express your views on child rights topics by writing articles and webpages; this can help you develop your writing and research skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Main responsibilities:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

  • Conduct extensive socio-legal research.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Manage a caseload of matters from inception to finish with minimal supervision.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Be the first point of contact for victims.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Manage interactions with external bodies with a professional attitude.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Assist colleagues when handling difficult cases.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Conditions<\/strong>:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    • Background in law is essential.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • English and Spanish are essential. French or German is desirable.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
