One-day work experience at Humanium

Posted on Posted in Association's life

Doing work experience at the headquarters of the association Humanium is quite something!

For future trainees and all of those curious to know how the Humanium team works, here is a quick overview:

The day starts with good Italian coffee to wake everyone up, and a warm welcome from Shaya, the association’s mascot. Generally, a short discussion about the day’s work with the other trainees follows on the sunny terrace.

It ‘s a well-known fact that remaining productive throughout the day relies on a relaxed atmosphere, and the association’s founder Olivier Soret, who immediately understood this, creates a friendly working environment.

However, a warning to all those who think that this relaxed atmosphere is synonymous with frivolity – this is far from reality!

As soon as the last drop of coffee swallowed, it’s task after task… and never the same thing twice: setting up projects for development assistance in India, updating the Children’s Rights portal, managing orders on the online boutique and organising the translators and translations for the English and German websites/blogs…

The list is so long and so diverse that there’s no chance of being bored by routine! Fortunately for the trainees, lunchtime allows a break and the concoction of home-made dishes to put everyone back on track for the afternoon.

Anyway, for all those wondering what they can do from a distance to help disadvantaged people and children, just see the initiatives and actions that Humanium has managed to implement with the participation of its trainees! Working with the association greatly enhances the trainees’ skills, notably giving them the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in development aid, as well as many other things. In return, Humanium benefits from these trainees who donate their time and their skills to achieve the main purpose of the association: enforcing Children’s Rights and improving the living conditions of the world’s most disadvantaged populations.
