One Child Rights Protection Committee has been established in Sankarapuram in order to monitor effectively the Rights of the Child in the village.
Composed by parents and teenagers, the Committee is aimed at the realization of the Rights of the Child such as their Education Right, Health Right, or also the right to be raise in a healthy environment. This Committee ensure that all children go to school. In this perspective, the members work actively in collaboration with the Teachers and Parents Association and Village Educational Committee in order to achieve a constant schooling for every child.
The Committee members receive a training and organize meetings in order to raise awareness of the negative effects of child labour and encourage the community to improve the capacity to realize the rights of all the children.
Thanks to the Committee actions, all the children in the village of Sankarapuram can now attend school and the village was declared free from child labour!
