In villages where it operates in India, the Humanium association makes it a point of honor to give young women the same rights as boys, particularly in education.

In Indian society, young girls are generally discriminated against boys. They are often forced to work to help their families, doing domestic jobs or taking the role as mother of the family in the absence of the parents. Consequently, many are not able to go to school and remain illiterate. The hope of living a life as an independent and autonomous adult woman is difficult to attain.

Through its program of Education and Human Rights, Humanium accompanies and helps young girls prepare for their future. Awareness campaigns are organized with all of the villagers and individual adapted solutions are proposed to families. The principles of health education and hygiene, proposed under the Health program, also allows girls to learn about the risks of disease and pre and post natal care, preparing them for their future role mothers.

Today, in Sankarapuram, all the young girls are enrolled. They learn to prepare for their future and to preserve their well-being, to become autonomous and independent women. One time mothers, they can offer that of which is the best for their children and give them what they have learned…in the line of generations, education of young girls will continue to be a veritable motor development.

You too, are acting for the right of young girls to have an education, and you will support also her family for many generations! Make a donation.
