Village clean-up and waste management

Posted on Posted in Environment

Humanium has helped clean up the Southeast Indian village of Azakusamudram. The roads have been cleared, and garbage is being collected, sorted and recycled.

Every month, village-wide clean-up campaigns are organized to ensure the roads remain clean. Twenty garbage-collection containers have been set up in strategic locations throughout the village so the villagers can effectively follow through on the recommendations given during the environment preservation and waste management awareness campaigns.

Garbage is now sorted, recycled when possible, and managed in a way that minimizes pollution and its effects on the health of the villagers.
