All children go to school

Child labour in Azakusamudram, a village in South-East India, is now only a distant memory!

Child labour has been eradicated in the village of Azakusamudram thanks to 29 interventions by educators, social activists and social workers.

Awareness meetings and events with children and parents has led to a collective and long-lasting awareness within the community. Through these efforts, villagers understand to a much greater extent the need for child schooling, thus breaking the dynamics that prevented children from acquiring the skills and education needed to improve their future.

Moreover, the global project developed by Humanium and its local partners within the village is based on applying practical solutions to remove the root causes of child labour and address the needs of individual families. .

At present, all children in the village are currently attending school!

In the coming months, activities will focus on consolidating this situation so that education remains a stable and long-lasting goal for the entire village.

Humanium is extremely proud of Azakusamudram’s progress and thanks all mentors, donors, and volunteers who have helped put these children on the path to a better quality of life.
